A Plea for Mercy

Exporting Cruelty - Ban the Appalling Live Export Trade! Exporting Cruelty

Dear compassionate supporters,

Please lend your support to help the millions of Australian animals who are forced to endure unthinkable suffering on live export vessels before meeting a barbaric fate, in countries with no animal welfare standards. Once they leave our shores, these animals are abandoned to an industry that is inhumane, immoral, and can readily be replaced with certified halal exports. There are no more excuses. The live export industry must end! And the animals need your help now!

There is no better time than now to take a stand against this extreme violence and animal cruelty.

The power to end this cruel trade lies with the Australian government, so it is up to each one of us to voice our objection toward the government. The animals can’t speak for themselves – we MUST speak out for them. The outcry in response to recent investigations aired on television, shows that Australian people are enraged by this cruelty. We must show our objection or risk condoning it by doing nothing.

Help send a strong message to our leaders — it's easy!

Animals Australia has produced a very informative video, distributed on CD, that you can show to your local MP to inform them about the reality of the live export trade, and help to build political support for a ban on live exports:

A Plea for MercyA Plea for Mercy.

This 12 minute video contains actual investigation footage, clearly showing that nothing has improved for millions of animals despite government claims of improvements in animal welfare.

Please call Animals Australia tollfree on 1800 888 584 to receive your own copy of this CD.

If you aren't sure who your local MP is, please visit:

Please also write, and call your local MP about this very important issue, to ensure that we can sustain political pressure to BAN the cruel live export trade. Your letters don't need to be long, just to the point. Please keep them informative and polite. Also send letters to your local paper about your concerns.

Thanks for being a voice for the voiceless.

Teach kids kindness to animals
Too often children grow up without having learnt that animals have feelings and suffer just like us.   Teaching your kids to be kind to animals at a young age  will help them develop compassion towards human beings too in later life.  Encourage your child's school to teach about both sides of the animals story - animals are more than just food - and challenge the perception that the rest of life on earth is there for our use.
