Weekly Street Action
There is a growing number of locals who are making a difference on the streets of Brisbane. Several days a week, caring people are meeting to distribute Australian 'Why Vegan?' booklets to our fellow pedestrians. The response has been hugely positive, with numerous passers-by remarking that this regular presence has given them and others the courage to go veg! Others have been inspired and returned to join in the leafletting!
If you haven't seen these booklets before, you can download a copy here.
This WeekIn the coming week, please join us at the following times:
Sat 17th 11am outside Borders bookstore
Monday 4pm at King George Square
Tuesday 4pm at Victoria Bridge near performing arts centre.
Wednesday 4pm Post Office Square
(if these dates our out of date, please see below)
This is happening EVERY WEEK, but times / locations may change slightly week to week (see below). Please consider scheduling an hour or two into your weekly schedule to join other friendly like minded people to spread compassion towards animals. Most people have very little idea how the animals they eat arrive on their plate, and are shocked to learn the truth. This is a very powerful and rewarding way to reach individuals in our city. Many hundreds of people can be reached on just 1 day in just a few hours.
Posters and leaflets will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own as well.
Interested? Then bookmark this link:http://www.vegsoc.org.au/forum_active.asp
Each week, details of the days & times will be posted in this forum thread on the Qld Veg. Soc. website. Or call Peter on 0405615774 for details.
Not sure if it's your thing? To quote a newly inspired activist: "Just wanted to say that I went leafletting for the very first time today, in the city outside borders, and if you've at all been considering doing it, please do! I work f/t but did it on a Saturday. Although admiring the people who I saw out on the streets doing it previously, and feeling inspired, I didn't think it was my kind of thing at all. I'm a shy, introverted writer. And at first I really was nervous, thinking how do I do this, exactly? But honestly, with other like-minded people by your side (thanks Karen, Hayley, Peter), and people actually taking the leaflets from you, sometimes even asking for them, you get over your fears in no time. Go Vegan!"
