Past Event: Ban Live Exports - NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

Brisbane: Saturday, 25 March 2006

Exact Location: Adelaide St, next to King George Square.
Time: 10:30am

Saturday, 25th March is the National Day of Action against live animal export.

Be a voice for the millions of animals exported live on 'death ships' to the Middle East. Help us show our government that an educated public will not stand for this extreme violence and animal cruelty!

There will be street theatre "the live export escapees" with cow costumed characters, an information stall with leaflets, posters, video CD-roms and more.

Please arrive by 10:30am.
Please wear black (if possible)

Please join us at this peaceful (and official) gathering to help distribute leaflets, collect petition signatures, or just boost our numbers. All materials provided.

The press will be invited to attend this gathering which will be supported by many animal advocacy groups and individuals, including Senator Andrew Bartlett.

See the press release.

I glad that 60 minutes showed the horrible treatment of how the cattle was being treated and slaughtered in eygpt. My boyfriend who eats meat was also distressed by this cruel and unnessary behaviour. I know alot people eat meat, but i wish the slaughtering practises was changed so these poor animals didn't need to suffer. With the exporting their should be better care taken with the animals being healthy before and after getting on the ships and also plenty of water and food with comfortable areas not on top of each other. I think what your organisation are doing is great and i will be going to your action day.
